Welcome to KURA Strength. We offer strength and conditioning in the heart of downtown San Mateo. Our aim is to create a community that is focused on identifying  goals, coaching progress and creating long term change. Learn more about our  philosophy and how we’re different from other methods and gyms. We offer on-site training, private coaching, nutrition counseling and even a youth program. Drop-ins

Want to get a taste of our unique and effective training style and see if it’s right for you?

Or just visiting the area and want to keep yourself going? Drop-ins are $30 per visit. All those with 6 months or more training experience are invited to drop into our facility. 

Just click the Drop-in link below to reserve your spot in class.  Please note: Our philosophy is to create steady, sustained progress with our athletes so you are limited to 3 drop-ins before we’re going to encourage you to see real change by making a longer-term commitment to your health and fitness.

Group Coaching

Group Coaching is the solution if you are looking for a supportive community that shares your desire to be stronger, healthier and happier. At a fraction of the price of personal training, it also allows you to work with a professional coach at a more affordable price.

Simply put, Group Coaching is designed to improve our athletes’ health and performance in a way that is most meaningful for their individual desires. Everyone walking in our doors has a vast range of personal goals and ability levels, so our group-coaching is flexibly designed to meet you wherever you are, regardless of experience, goals, age or fitness level.

Program Features

We have designed our Group Coaching program to value your time while still offering quality every single session.

All sessions are 75 minutes long.* This extended class structure allows for a complete warm-up, strength training and a conditioning component without sacrificing any of it. No cutting things short, no rushing out the door.

Our facility layout is designed to match these values. Personalized lifting stations assure that all athletes have the tools and space they need to focus on their workouts so they don’t waste time on transitions or equipment-searching. Your valuable time should be spent on training, not fighting for space on the pull-up bar!

 

Exclusive Training Program

 

 

Not interested in the group training setting? That's ok! We offer one-on-one training for those who prefer a more intimate environment.

Your workouts are developed to help you target your goals, make you stronger, healthier, and more fit. 


Looking for this kind of one-on-one, intensive coaching? First, schedule a KURA FITCHECK with us so we can make see what you’re looking for. This is required of all exclusive coaching clients.

Lifestyle and Nutrition Consultations

 

 

As our Philosophy  states, we take a holistic approach to your fitness and health. We offer lifestyle and nutrition consultations to round out your training. During Lifestyle Consultations, you will fill our an assessment form and, together, we’ll review and discuss variables to improve overall health and wellbeing. Depending on where you are, we may discuss anything from digestion to sleep cycles, energy levels, nutrition, stress, body composition and more.

During Nutrition Consultations, we will review and discuss a food journal and make recommendations based on your goals. Such goals could include increasing energy, optimizing performance, or changing your body composition.
