ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT: NICOLE BORG | CROSSFIT KURA

EXCLUSIVE TRAINING CLIENT HIGHLIGHT

NICOLE BORG

Five months ago we gained a new athlete in our gym. If you came in during group training you would think of her as just the same as all our other athletes.  What you most likely would know know is that she is also the head softball coach at The College of San Mateo - she's been there in that capacity for 12 years. She wins... A LOT. But her success doesn't stop on the softball field... She is winning at living life.
As she gets ready to take her 40-0 team to the State Championship this coming weekend the big question seems to be centered around what makes her teams so successful?
The answer is simple, because she doesn't cut corners, ever. Attention to detail... extra time and effort put in when everyone else has long since left the field and moved on to something else.
Off the field the big question is how did she get her pre-baby body back in only 7 months of having her second child?

She took a page out of her own coaching book by entrusting her training program to her own set of coaches. The same way every softball team has a first and third base coach; she had a support system both in the gym and in the kitchen.

"It's not necessarily about knowing it all but surrounding yourself with the right support system.  My coaches mapped out a training and nutrition program that aligned with my lifestyle".

As a fitness instructor herself, the knowledge was there but the application often suffered due to a lack of time."I aligned my schedule with the KURA schedule and haven't looked back since. It is a part of my day that no longer gets sidelined due to other distractions." The coaching and teaching focus has only benefited from the hour she gives herself. She holds herself to the same high standards of her athletes; no cutting corners - attending 3 classes a week consistently and adhering to a clean eating diet - success was eminent.

Nicole embodies all aspects of what we hope for in our athletes. She trusts, believes and practices KURA life. She brings an additional level of "winning" to KURA with her own Bulldog legacy in tote and we are proud and lucky to call her our KURA family.
GOOD LUCK AT STATE THIS WEEKEND COACH!
